Sessions were recorded in stereo but were released on monophonic vinyl.Liner Notes: About Those Hi-Lo's! by Sammy Davis, Jr.The first time I was musically introduced to the Hi-Lo's by Frank Loesser, he prefaced playing their records with, Wait 'til you hear this... An expression that has become second nature with all Hi-Lo's fans. After hearing their work, my comment was the understatement of the year... Man! They're a gas! ...Hearing the Hi-Lo's for the first time is a musical thrill... for they possess the freshest, most progressive sound of any singing group today. They have the great faculty of taking a tune and vocally petting it. I never knew the Hi-Lo's had so many fans... and each one feels as if he discovered them. Ironically, the biggest tout for the group is a competitive quartet called the Four Freshmen... They listen to Hi-Lo records like a teenager digs Frankie. This is the Hi-Lo's third album... and it seems one is always better than the other. In each of their albums there have been a lot of firsts. They have used vocal techniques to simulate instruments. They have completely changed the phrasing of standard songs. These ear-catching techniques have given their up-beat tunes new dimensions... and on this, their third album, is another first... they utilize a string background... and breathe new life into their ballads. So when you listen to this album, you will sit by your phonograph in complete amazement at what they accomplish. If you like the other two Hi-Lo's albums, all that comes to my mind is what the great Al Jolson used to say... You ain't heard nothin' yet! Those other two Hi-Lo's albums: The Hi-Lo's, I Presume & Listen to the Hi-Lo's
