Roy Orbison toured Great Britain in 1963 with local bands The Beatles and Gerry and the Pacemakers as his special guests. This is an amazing picture of them altogether in what was a popular photographers pose of the day with the star or lead singer standing to the side and the band or others in a group behind. English photographers loved this arrangement because it broke with the standard “star in the middle” pose still had space for everybody to fit in the picture. It also gives a nice balance to the composition.
